Longframlington is on the main A697 road from Morpeth to Coldstream, just 30 minutes from Newcastle and one and a half hours from Edinburgh by car. On the northern edge of the village is Embleton Hall, a small country house hotel with just 13 lovely rooms, standing in its own grounds of five acres which are composed of landscaped gardens, a ha-ha, grass tennis court and deciduous woodland. Totally restful and situated as it is in mid-Northumberland, it provides guests with an ideal location from which to explore the surrounding area.

The house was built in 1730 by Thomas Embleton and purchased by the Fenwick Family in 1780. It was extended to its present size in 1893 with a large Victorian south wing. The Hall was the seat of the land-owning Fenwick Family. Today, the bedrooms are named after the children – ‘Miss May’, ‘Miss Phyllis’ and so on. The house has a friendly air it is warm and comfortable with log fires in all the downstairs rooms, reaching out to greet the weary traveller. Like many similar halls in Northumberland, Embleton Hall has an extensive range of sandstone outbuildings including a stable block, gin-gan, laundry and kennels. The walled gardens are well kept and produce much fruit and vegetables in season. Peaches from the Halls Peach House are not to be missed!

Whether you are choosing Embleton Hall as a holiday destination, for a short break, for a business function or to enjoy the most memorable of wedding venues, you are assured of exceptional service, outstanding scenery, modern facilities blended with old world charm and service that is second to none.

The surrounding area offers the visitor a wealth of activities, abundant beautiful scenery and a superb opportunity to enjoy nature at her finest. Morpeth is an ancient market town with enough historic buildings, myths and legends to satisfy the most curious of historians. The area known as Castle Morpeth is the Gateway to Northumberland, with the town of Morpeth at its centre. It stretches from the hamlet of Matfen in the South-West to the picturesque Druridge Bay in the North-East, with over six miles of unspoilt beaches.

We are both able and happy to help you plan your stay here at Embleton Hall. With information available on events, activities and attractions in the area, you need only call or write and we will be delighted to help.
