Longframlington is on the main A697 road from Morpeth to Coldstream, just 30 minutes from Newcastle and one and a half hours from Edinburgh by car. On the northern edge of the village is Embleton Hall, a small country house hotel with just 13 lovely rooms, standing in its own grounds of five acres which are composed of landscaped gardens, a ha-ha, grass tennis court and deciduous woodland. Totally restful and situated as it is in mid-Northumberland, it provides guests with an ideal location from which to explore the surrounding area.

The house was built in 1730 by Thomas Embleton and purchased by the Fenwick Family in 1780. It was extended to its present size in 1893 with a large Victorian south wing. The Hall was the seat of the land-owning Fenwick Family. Today, the bedrooms are named after the children – ‘Miss May’, ‘Miss Phyllis’ and so on. The house has a friendly air it is warm and comfortable with log fires in all the downstairs rooms, reaching out to greet the weary traveller. Like many similar halls in Northumberland, Embleton Hall has an extensive range of sandstone outbuildings including a stable block, gin-gan, laundry and kennels. The walled gardens are well kept and produce much fruit and vegetables in season. Peaches from the Halls Peach House are not to be missed!
